This Week at Stamp and Scrapbook Madness

What's New

We still have plenty of stock arriving in-store, especially as we get closer to Christmas. For those of you who like a bit of sparkle we now have a range of bling flourishes and swirls from both Prima and Kaisercraft.

Friday Night Crop

Don’t forget our crop this Friday night. Come along anytime after 6pm and enjoy some uninterrupted crafting time. Cost is only $5pp and use of our tools is included. This is a great way to get some projects completed in a fun and friendly environment.

Friday 31 October 10am-12pm Fast and Fabulous Birthday Cards

This is your last chance to catch this class. Designed to make card making quick and easy these fun cards are made using mainly patterned paper and stickers. Using the new range from Scenic Route you will leave with 4 creative cards and plenty of supplies and ideas to create even more.

Saturday 1 November 10am-12pm Photo Folio

Learn how to create an interactive layout with a folio of hidden photos and journaling. We learn how to use your patterned paper to make 3d embellishments as well as how to create your own twist ties, pockets and tags. This layout is suitable for a wide range of themes and is sure to give you plenty of new skills and ideas. This is the last time this class will be running before the new schedule starts.

New Class Schedule and Sale!

As many of you are aware the craft show is on in Brisbane this weekend. Whilst we would have loved to have had a stand at this year's show the timing just simply wasn't right. So instead of going to the show we are bringing it to you. From now until 4pm Saturday we are offering 10% off everything in store. That includes items already discounted!  So save yourself the cost of show entry and get some bargains at the same time!

We are also pleased to announce that we have a new guest teacher – Cassandra Glass. Many of you will have seen Cass’s work as she is a design team member for Kaisercraft and Scrapware and has had many an article and project in Scrapbooking Creations and Scrapbooking Memories. New Instore

Plenty of new arrivals this week including new Heidi Swapp papers. Friday 24 October – Celebrations of Christmas 10am-12pm

These three cards will give you plenty of inspiration this Christmas. We use a wide range of techniques including the popular new Glimmermist. These cards incorporate some unusual stamping and card construction ideas and are sure to impress this festive season.

Saturday 25 October Cuttlebug Double 10am -12pm

This double layout uses the Cuttlebug in a variety of ways to create dimension and texture to your page with a variety of mediums including acrylic and chipboard. Draw attention to a large number of photos with this clean lines and simple structure of this double page.

This Week at Stamp and Scrapbook Madness

New in-store

We have had some new books and magazines arrive this week. If you are starting to think about Christmas Projects the latest Scrapbook Trends magazine -Celebrate the Holidays has arrived full of ideas for cards, decorations, décor and layouts. We also have in-store Becky Fleck’s book Page Maps. This is an excellent resource for scrapbookers – filled with sketches and layouts as well as a handy set of cards you can take with you to crops or when shopping to keep you on track.

We have had a great range of new ribbons arrive. A broad range of colours and styles including lace are now in stock plus a great range for Christmas. We have sourced a new supplier for these ribbons with very competitive prices which means these ribbons are excellent value for money.

We have also some more travel themed papers from Dove of the East arrive. These papers are quite different and feature patterns that echo China, Japan and Russia. There are some beautiful rub-ons that complement these ranges as well as some charms and tokens. New Storage System

We now have a fabulous range of custom made storage solutions available for your papers and tools. These storage boxes are designed to hold a huge amount of papers and tools. The 12 x 12 box comes standard with 6 drawers – 4 deep drawers strong enough to hold the largest of paper stashes and two with removable and interchangeable compartments for tools and embellishments. However the combination of drawers is completely up to you. If you want all 6 drawers to be for paper only then that is up to you. The units can be decorated to suit your style and décor and come with a handy lock system to keep dust and children out or keep the drawers closed when moving. The units come in three different sizes – 12 x 12, A4 and a small baby box ideal for embellishments or dies and embossing folders.

Making memories – The Slice

Many of you will have seen advertisements for the Slice from Making Memories. This is a brand new portable die cutting system, similar to the Cricut that is due to arrive late October early November. The small lightweight unit can be recharged and easily taken with you. It is compact to store and will cut a wide range of images in sizes up to 4 inches, with no need for a computer. There are a wide range of additional font and image cartridges available to expand its use even further. The recommended retail price on the Slice is approximately $300. However, we have a special pre-order only price of $250. This price is available on advance purchases only and requires a non-refundable pre-order deposit of $20. Friday 31 October – Crop Night
Being Halloween we will add a bit of spice to the evening with some extra treats! Cost is $5pp and includes use of our tools. Make sure you book in!

 

Sunday 9 November - Sunday Session
A new date has been set for the Sunday Session. Come along on Sunday 9 November for a full day of classes ,competitions and crop time. Cost is $50pp and includes lunch. There will be plenty of goodies and lots of fun!!!

This layout incorporates a simple photo folio, designed to hold extra photos and journaling tags. Take the opportunity to discover how to use the scor-pal to make your paper-crafting faster and easier. You will need one 6x4 photo plus up to six other photos that can be cropped.

Wednesday 15 October    Star Album 10am-1pm

Create a stunning mini album from scratch in a beautiful star shaped design. This is a three hour class to give you enough time to add the finishing touches. You will learn a heap of techniques and use a variety of different embellishments including, the Cuttlebug, Crop-a dile, Nestabilities, and even stamping.

Friday 17 October     Photo Folio 10am-12pm

Take the opportunity to discover how to use the scor-pal to make your paper-crafting faster and easier. You will need one 6x4 photo plus up to six other photos that can be cropped. These cards are quick and fun to make. Constructed mainly using patterned paper and stickers you will be surprised and how easy it is to create impressive cards with a minimum of fuss and money!! You will leave this class armed with ideas and plenty of extras to create even more!

This week at Stamp and Scrapbook Madness.

Firstly thank you to everyone who has dropped by the blog. There will be lost of other little things posted here apart from the newsletter - products coming soon, layout and project ideas and lots of handy hints and tips. What's New In Store

We have had plenty of new arrivals this week. Two new Sassafrass Lass lines came in; Happy Place and Hog Heaven. These papers are incredibly cute and given how quickly they sold on the weekend they won't last long. We also received the Teresa Collins Christmas Line which has bold strong designs which makes it quite different from a lot of the vintage coloured papers that seem to be everywhere. There are also some cute cooking themed papers from Teresa Collins too! 

Back in Stock

Christmas Cuttlebug Dies and Embossing folders. These Christmas sets sold out in one day when they first arrived. Finally I have received some more!! I also have some of the Embossing Folder storage sheets.

Sunday Session

A Sunday session had been scheduled for this Sunday  October 12, however I have had to re-schedule this day to a new date due to family commitments. If you are interested to coming along to our all day session where we enjoy extensive crop time, mini classes and prizes and competitions, let me know and I will be back in contact shortly with a new date!

 

Crop Night

We are having a crop night on Friday 31 October - Halloween! For $5 come along and get some uninterrupted craft time and use of our tools. There will also been some Halloween treats in store!!!

 

Night Class Next Week

We have another evening class running next Tuesday 14 October. The layout for this class is Photo Folio. This layout incorporates a small folio that can hold extra images, or journalling. You will also learn some paper layering techniques as well as how to create your own paper ties.

This Week's Classes

Wednesday  8 Oct 10am-12pm - Sketch Interpretation Sketches are a scrapbookers best friend - particularly when inspiration seems to elude you. Learn how to use and interpret sketches to suit your photos and theme. From one simple sketch you can create a single or double layout.

Thursday 9 Oct 10am-1pm - Star Album

This album is simply stunning! Make it to give as a gift to give this Christmas, or even better - keep it for yourself and fill it with favourite pictures. This is a three hour class to give you time to complete the project and add all your embellishments.

Friday 10 Oct 10am-12pm - Crazy Cuttlebugs

Take your Cuttlebug beyond basics with this card class. Make three unique cards and discover different techniques and effects you can create. This is also a great way to try out the popular Cuttlebug and get a feel for what it can do.

Saturday 11 Oct 10am-12pm - Cupcake Cards

These cards are so sweet they look good enough to eat. We use a variety of different stamping techniques and plenty of glitter, glaze and even real sprinkles to make these bright and happy cards.

Saturday 11 Oct 1pm-3pm - Scrapbooking in the Round

Break out of your routine and try something a little different with a circular page. This is a great way to draw attention to a favourite photo or really make your page stand out. You will also learn how to create your own embellishments and and texture and dimension with paper rolling.
